Today we are feeling a bit back to normal!
This afternoon the sun was out, it was only 8 degrees outside and some of the snow was melting so I geared the kids up to play outside. It's been so cold and windy that I am guilty for not really getting Lewi out this winter. The older ones are able to play in the backyard where I can see them from the comforts of my warm living room :) So Lewi was quite happy to walk around outside and check out the cows. I will admit I had them way over dressed when the sun was out ... when the sun went back hiding behind the clouds the wind picked up and it was a little chilly for Lewi's little hands!
We attempted in playing some hockey ... but Kooper is having a hard time understanding sharing ... so needless to say the other boys were having to 'play' with him and not really get much puck time!
At any rate we were able to walk through the barn ... ride some bikes ... check out the baby calves ... draw with chalk on the driveway ... play hockey and in true spring/summer tradition eat popsicles! BRRR!!!
I was quickly reminded of the sickness we've had the last few days when I had to wipe three out of four noses :P
Now I've just popped some corn with our new stove top popper (which makes the most amazing popcorn!) and we are going to pop in Despicable Me and snuggle in under a blanket.
Now for supper I am making
Tuna Burgers
and
Baked French Fries
... favourite staples in our house :)

How I love my Saeco Espresso machine ...
For Christmas and my birthday this past December my parents and Scott went together and bought me this amazing machine.
It looks small and not very inspiring ... but the possibilities of what I can make out of it are so very special. What Scott and I enjoy around here is a nice hot mocha ... skim milk ... no whip ... extra foam ... ahhhh
Every afternoon after my workout, the clothes are folded, lunch is cleaned up and while the kids are napping you will find me sitting down for ten (sometimes less) blissful minutes thoroughly enjoying one of these ...
My one indulgence!!
Now if you ever want to buy me something a nice big mug would make me smile ... I do have a thing for mugs.
If you like what you see ... come on over for one ... if you do have a favourite mug, you are welcome to bring it and I will fill it ... but if I really like it I might steal it!!
I think if you love someone you should buy them one of these beautiful machines :)

Today's sickies ...
Too bad my first post is about my sick family :P
Ike has been sick now with a high fever since Saturday morning. He has missed school yesterday and now today. Poor little Lew has had a runny snotty nose since last week already. Kooper and Jesse seem to be just fine ... actually Jesse was quite excited to go to preschool this morning and get away from the sickies at home!
Now all of you Momma's out there know that we are NOT allowed to be sick!! Unfortunately my body is in disagreement with that statement! I woke up yesterday with a bad headache, sore throat and cough. Now the frustrating part as you well know is that breakfast still needs to be made, fed and cleaned up ... lunch and supper the same ... diapers still need to be changed ... laundry still needs to be washed/folded/put away and fights still need to be defused!!
Even though we were sickies yesterday I was on the hunt for another perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe and found something different than the norm with molasses!! The hard part was keeping that cookie dough safe and hidden in the fridge for a whole 24 hours! Thankfully the kids forgot about it and I was unable to chisel a chunk off without the kids catching me! Anyway ... they look amazing sitting on their cookie sheets straight out of the oven!! Here is the recipe ... do your best to wait and let the dough rest in the fridge cause they do look thick and amazing! http://www.injennieskitchen.com/2010/03/chocolate-chip-cookies.html My only change was that I did not have chocolate discs ... I just used good old semi-sweet 'Chipits'.
Don't they look amazing!! Come over for a visit and you can have some :)
Pictures to follow of my monkey's eating them!
